Film Photography

In 2019, I had been using my DSLR camera, but I had a desire to take photos with a new medium. I loved taking portraitures of people, whether they were friends who helped me with my photography assignments or taking picture of people on the street for street photography. I love getting off of technology and being in the now, and I discovered the world of film photography. An old point-and-shoot film camera that belonged to my mom got me into this new to me, but old and classic form of photography. The slowness that comes with film photography allowed me to slow down, be even more intentional with my photos, and enjoy the eagerness of what my photos might turn out to be.

In 2025, I stepped into a darkroom and understood the science of the complexities of film photography. Not just the development of negatives, but printing them right onto photo paper. Although digital photography is such an amazing form of taking photos, film photography will always have a special place in my heart.

Currently manually shoot on my Canon Ae-1 Program and point-and-shoot Nikon Touch Lite for travel.
